Closed March 26-29 For System Migration & Cleaning!

Coudersport Public Library will be closed from Monday, March 26 through Wednesday, March 28. The Library will migrate to the new Spark/Evergreen circulation system during this period, with the IT staff remotely extracting and transferring patron and collection files.

Library staff plan to carry out spring cleaning tasks as well as provide in-house support for the migration during the three-day period. Existing patron files will remain in effect. Under the new system, patrons will be able to set up accounts on their home computers to enable them to view their checkout history, reserve books online and receive overdue and reserve notices; these can also be generated by phone or text message. Evergreen also features a more searchable database so patrons will be able to search for books online.

No library materials will be due March 26-28, however, books may still be returned in the book drop. DVDs should be held for inside return when the library reopens. Patrons with long-overdue materials are urged to return them before the migration period begins. The standard checkout period of 14 days for books and periodicals will remain in force after the migration, however, patrons will see changes in the DVD checkout period.  Overdue fines will remain at $1.00 per day for DVDs, with existing fines still in effect. A Conscience Fund will remain in use for overdue books.

Patrons may continue to check out ebooks during this period, through the Ebranch2Go link on the library’s website, coudersportlibrary.org.

To ensure the new system is running smoothly in advance of operations, the Library will reopen at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29.
